01 Aug     Special Event

Praise the Lord that we can come together as a church for our annual church family camp. Pray that people will be challenged in their journey with the Lord in becoming peacemakers! Pray for the RICE special events for our high school students to be held on the 16th and 23rd August. Pray that many students will come to know the Lord! Pray for the big mission event called Reachout 2008 that will be held on the 15-17th August at Katoomba. Pray that many people will see that they are missionaries whether at home or abroad!

02 Aug     Canaan Fellowship

Pray for the advisors and group leaders of the Fellowship who see their ministry grow as the number of members grows rapidly.

03 Aug     iGnite Fellowship

Please pray for iGnite Fellowship Growth Groups as we commence a new series on Encouragement. Pray for the new semester as students return to University, that they may witness and live for Jesus. Pray the upcoming events for the rest of the year that they will be edifying for the university students and encourage them to grow in Christ.

04 Aug     Manna Fellowship

Pray that God will raise brothers and sisters who are willing to serve Him, to experience Him, to continue to grow in His words and to become increasingly thirsty for His word.

05 Aug      Grace Fellowship

Pray that God’s name may be glorified in the busy month of August with events involving ReachOut 2008, MV Doulos etc. Also pray that Grace members’ horizon may be broadened as they witness God's love for the lost and His mighty deeds.

06 Aug      Blaze Fellowship

Pray for the RICE evangelistic events and the thousands of high-schoolers who will be attending these events. Pray that the Holy Spirit will be working powerfully in convicting young hearts and changing their lives.

07 Aug      Love Fellowship - Evergreen

Give thanks to God for inspiring us with His words so that our faith will become more steadfast. Pray that the Lord will continue to keep us in His guidance and bless us daily with peace and joy.

 

08 Aug      Peace Fellowship

Give thanks to our Lord for giving YK & Cindy Ho the opportunity to share with us their voluntary work in Hunan in China. Pray for Mrs Cheung Senior (Susanna’s mother-in-law) as she fell on the ground twice. Pray that God will take away her pain and strengthen her day by day. Pray for Liza Chan as her father-in-law passed away recently. Pray that God will comfort her and her husband Francis. Pray for God’s guidance for the Committee members so that they may have the wisdom to serve Peace Fellowship in the way He loves us to do.

 

09 Aug      International Fellowship

Pray for the upcoming visit by Jeff and Beth Dillon of our meeting to be held on August 23rd. Pray for the health of our members during the winter months.

10 Aug       Jireh Fellowship

Pray that the committee will have good health, love and wisdom to serve the group.

11 Aug       Philippi Fellowship

Please pray for Philippi Fellowship for recruiting new members.
 

12 Aug        Love Fellowship – Youth Group

Pray for Jane and Ting’s baby and their health. Pray for Amy Tam’s health. Pray for law and order during the Olympic Games in Beijing. Pray for the brothers and sisters’ study and their daily work. Also pray for those who are still looking for job. Pray for the upcoming Doulos’ Gospel Cruise visit in Sydney.
 

13 Aug          Life 430 Fellowship

Pray for those young couple families with kids (or about to have kid) in our Fellowship. Pray that God will provide wisdom for the parents to be a good keeper and spiritual role model of their children.

Pray for the future direction of the Committee.

Lindsay & Jane Robertson, & children David + Rachel (Hong Kong Baptist Seminary): Pray for Lindsay's teaching preparations as the new academic year starts in August. Pray for David as he prepares to go to uni after finishing high school. Pray for the family's adjustment as he leaves. Pray that Lindsay's sleep problems will be resolved by God's grace, and that Jane's heavy workload can be managed.
 

16 Aug            English Speaking Classes

Praise the Lord for this special ministry that our church has done for many years. Pray for Susanna and Julie and Mike as they continue in their teaching roles. Pray they will know how best to reach out to the students with Christ’s love.

17 Aug            Music Committee

Give thanks that brothers and sisters from different Fellowships & Services served the Lord through music. Pray for the workshop of Sound System held on 31 August. Pray that the workshop can help brothers and sisters serving the Lord effectively in their ministries. Please remember Marcus Ho as he will teach in the workshop. Pray for the preparation of the November Concert to be held on 1 November. Pray that God grants wisdom and vision to the Committee so that the Concert may bring glory to God and benefit His people.

Pray for our multi-media teams and flower arrangement teams.

 

19 Aug            Office Staff

Give thanks for the dedication of our full-time and voluntary staff who have shown special dedication and diligence in the absence of an Administrative Officer. Pray for Jane Choy from the English service as she commences the challenge of becoming our Administrative Officer from today. Pray that she may settle in well and work closely with other staff.
 

20 Aug            Children’s Ministry

Praise the Lord for our children! Pray that they may come into knowledge of our Lord at an early age. Pray for the JSS and Pre-school Teachers as they share the good news of Jesus with the children each week. Pray that the Kidz Xtra teams will develop meaningful relationships with the children.
 

21 Aug             Evangelism Committee

Praise God for the love for unsaved souls that He has given to many of us in the church. Pray that this love will continue to grow in our hearts and will spread through the whole church. Pray for our personal evangelism training later in the year.
 

22 Aug             Love Fellowship – Middle Age

Pray for God’s guidance for David Zheng and the Committee as they prepare the Mandarin Leaders’ Retreat. Pray for God’s guidance for brother Ng Shing Si as he may need to have an operation about his nose. Pray for God’s guidance on brothers and sistsers as they learn how to build relationships with their children.
 

23 Aug             Christian Education – English

Praise the Lord for the freedom we have in being able to read and learn from God’s word. Pray for the wider English congregation that they will see the wisdom and necessity of meeting together in small groups for Bible study on a weekly basis.
